What is a cask ale?
Originating from Great Britain, cask ale (or real ale) is beer that undergoes a secondary fermentation in the same vessel that it is later served from. Cask ales are naturally carbonated and designed to be served at cellar temperatures. As a result, you may taste the various complex flavors and notice a soft, velvety mouthfeel, compared to beers poured from a standard CO2 draft system.
What we’re serving on the cask beer system:
- Shepherd’s Hollow Pub Bitter (3.8% ABV): Brewed with the finest British hops and Marris Otter malt, this traditional style ale has a light bready body and floral hop finish.
- Geordie Boy Brown Ale (5.8% ABV): Distinctly English, this medium-bodied ale is crisp with nutty, biscuity, and floral flavors.
- Cherry Valley Smoked Porter (6.1% ABV): Dark, rich porter creates warmth through cherry wood smoked and chocolate malts, and light floral hops.
