Red Shed Ale House

10 Main St., Cherry Valley, NY 13320

The newest location in the Red Shed Brewery family! The Red Shed Ale House is located on Main Street in Cherry Valley. Our taproom is reminiscent of an English pub and serves a rotating menu of English-inspired light fare, such as English pies with spring mix. Enjoy 6 taps of fresh Red Shed Beer, local wines and cider, or take home a growler or four-pack of Red Shed cans. We also have up to 4 beers on a cask system and 1-2 beers using a nitro push. In the heart of downtown Cherry Valley, the Ale House invites visitors and locals alike to kick back and relax over a pint at the bar, in a booth or while playing darts. Leashed dogs are welcome at our intimate outdoor seating (open seasonally).

What is a cask ale?

Originating from Great Britain, cask ale (or real ale) is beer that undergoes a secondary fermentation in the same vessel that it is later served from. Cask ales are naturally carbonated and designed to be served at cellar temperatures. As a result, you may taste the various complex flavors and notice a soft, velvety mouthfeel, compared to beers poured from a standard CO2 draft system.

What we’re serving on the cask beer system:

  • Shepherd’s Hollow Pub Bitter (3.8% ABV): Brewed with the finest British hops and Marris Otter malt, this traditional style ale has a light bready body and floral hop finish.
  • Geordie Boy Brown Ale (5.8% ABV): Distinctly English, this medium-bodied ale is crisp with nutty, biscuity, and floral flavors.
  • Ginsberg’s ESB (6.2% ABV): A traditional medium-bodied English Ale that balances caramel and marmalade malt tones with moderate bitterness and an aromatic duet of floral hops and light fruity esters; all harmonized by a lush cask conditioned finish. A beer designed to exhibit the quintessential elements of traditional English brewing.
  • The Local Dark Mild (4.0% ABV): A deep mahogany English Session Ale that showcases malty tones of sweet caramel, nutty toffee, and dark chocolate; accentuated by a smooth cask conditioned finish. A beer that is highly approachable, yet complex.
